IS YOUR ANXIETY TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING?

Have you ever felt that your anxiety is more than just a fleeting worry, perhaps pointing to something deeper within? When we take the time to understand and address the root cause of our anxiety, we can begin to make lasting change.

5 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULDN’T APOLOGIZE

Many of us were taught as children to say “I’m sorry” whenever we upset someone. As adults, this phrase often doesn’t convey a genuine or effective apology. While writing my book You Don’t Need to Forgive, I discovered that many people apologize when it’s unnecessary or inappropriate, leading to forced or insincere apologies.

With gratitude to Dr. Arielle Schwartz, Dr. Femke E. Bakker, Lisa A. Romano, and Athena Petersen. Their respective writings were the focus of our weekly open discussion group on Healing CPTSD. Our theme was “An Invitation to Continue Exploring Self Gentleness”

Let these words wash over you — like warm sunlight:

I am allowed to be gentle with myself. I am allowed to move slowly.

I am allowed to feel whatever I’m feeling — without judgment.

I am not behind. I am right on time. I am doing the best I can, and that is enough.

I can offer myself the same compassion I offer others. I am allowed to rest.

Last night during our weekly open discussion on YouTube, our community gathered for Part 4 of our mini-series on practicing self-gentleness. In the guided reading led by our host, Athena, we explored meaningful ways survivors can begin meeting themselves with kindness—especially during moments when they feel overwhelmed or unworthy of care.

We also delved into the practice of creative visualization, exploring how imagining a peaceful, calming place can be a powerful tool in healing from complex trauma.

If topics like honoring our feelings, self-compassion, and peaceful place visualization resonate with you, we warmly invite you to catch the replay of last night's conversation—and consider subscribing to our channel to stay connected.
